Hajime Hinata never asked to be trapped on Jabberwock Island. But then the killings started thanks to a black and white bear by the name Monokuma. Despite that, Hajime was pretty happy with his relationship with Nagito Komaeda. But, one event on the fifth island might change his life forever.
Hajime is an amazing character already. He was also mysterious. He didn’t know what his talent was. Nagito is also mysterious as in we don’t know what the hell he is thinking. Nagito is sweet cinnamon roll until he tried to murder someone then turned crazy. He had this twisted sense of justice. He believed that the stronger the despair the stronger the hope. Which is some what true. But the other characters, including Hajime, felt some sort of betrayal.
Since this is still in the Danganronpa universe, everyone will still think Nagito is some kind of psycho killer on the loose. Hajime would think the same but he didn’t want to believe it. Then again he knows nothing about Nagito. He didn’t know who to believe. Nagito was left alone just like how he wanted. Hajime is going with the crowd. Everything is going to Nagito’s “plan”. In truth, Nagito wanted to escape this place with Hajime. He is just scared that he will hurt Nagito. He is waiting for everyone is kill each other off first. He turned insane because of the sense of justice to protect Hajime and no one else. On the other hand, Hajime wanted to fix Nagito and get everyone out alive. Hajime also have his sense of justice to protect Nagito and figure out what is wrong. After many deaths and many executions, it was just Hajime, Nagito, and the other survivors. Hajime finally talked to Nagito told him this fuzzy feeling he had for him. Nagito was attacked by Hajime confession. He was so happy he would kill himself. Momokuma ,being the cock blocker that he is, tried to kill off everyone. The bear really thought Nagito would turn to despair and join the dark side. Nagito destroyed Monokuma immediately. Grabbed Hajime and got the hell out of that place. After that, they went on dates to watch over the destroyed city. They even got married and lived happily ever forever. Even Nagito made sure of it.
A line that Hajime said (in his head) in return was: “In the end, everything Nagito said… I don’t know what was true and what was lies. But even so, there might have been a definite truth hidden somewhere in his words… If there wasn’t, there’s no way I could feel this mysterious bond between Nagito and me.”
From the start, Nagito was particularly interested in Hajime and was the only one to stay with him after he lost consciousness at the beginning of the game. He also escorted Hajime while he introduced himself to the others. Nagito noticed that he and Hajime were similar somehow as if they were both bystanders in something that didn’t concern them. Hajime also didn’t feel like an Ultimate to Nagito and they were both fans of Hope’s Peak Academy. Nagito suggested that Hajime’s talent could be Ultimate Serenity because even Hajime’s mere presence brought him serenity. Though sometimes annoyed by Nagito, Hajime also felt more relaxed around him. Prior to the chapter 1 trial, Hajime was the closest thing Nagito had to a friend.
