“ERK!” Nami choked off her diatribe and halted her fist as Luffy spoke in his serious voice; when he looked up, she could see the equally serious look on his face. This was Captain Luffy now, and she could feel herself straighten under his gaze.
“Look, I don’t know exactly what’s going on with you and Robin, but you need to cheer up, okay?” Luffy crossed his arms and regarded her with a look that was almost stern. “It’s almost been a week and I’ve already talked to Robin about it too. So, please, can you go back to normal? We’ve all missed having the real you around.” He gave her a soft smile, and Nami couldn’t help smiling back.
“…yeah, you’re right,” Nami sighed, feeling her spirits start to lift. How Luffy managed it, she still had no idea. “I’ll do my best, Luffy, I promise…but it was SOOO much money…”
Luffy snickered, drawing a weak glare from Nami. “Shishishi! I should have known it was all about money with you. I don’t have any beries, but I might have another way to cheer you up!”
Nami raised an eyebrow. “Really? What’s that-MPH?!” She blinked as Luffy surged forward and kissed her; to her surprise, it was a soft, gentle kiss, one she found herself melting into as she kissed him back.
Continuing to surprise her, Luffy was slow and careful in removing her clothes. Nami returned the favor, taking particular care of his precious straw hat. When they were both naked, she broke off the kiss to look up at him, a questioning look on her face.
